Music in the Woods - June 3, 2017 from 2 PM - 8:00 PM

Note: This year the Music in the Woods Festival and the Council Picnic are again combined into one afternoon/evening event.

Thank you all for a great festival in 2016!

Enjoy the sounds of music on a beautiful afternoon into evening at Oregon Ridge. The Nature Center hosts this annual event inviting local musicians and bands to perform at this family-friendly festival. New this year is the change from May to June and a daytime event into an event that plays into the evening. Music from 13 soloists/groups will be playing anything from folk, bluegrass, rock and more on an outdoor stage. Visitors can bring their own instruments and join in at the impromptu jam sessions by the nature center building. We will have workshops on getting to know the dulcimers. Vendors and crafts for kids will be available all day including face painting. There will be hot dogs and a food truck for hungry audiences. We encourage you to bring your own lawn chairs or picnic blankets. This event is rain or shine. If weather is not on our side, the venue gets moved inside and we continue the fun in the nature center. We will end the night with a campfire and s'mores! Click here to see the 2016 flyer.

If you enjoy folk, ballad, rock or other music and want to shine your light, this is a free venue unlike any other. To participate, just call the Nature Center to sign-up for a spot. You need not be a professional; beginner, intermediate or advanced musicians are welcome.

For those who just want to watch, listen, and learn, admission to Music in the Woods is FREE. There's no better way to spend a spring day with friends and family than at this melodious gathering. Just lay back and relax to the music, sing along, take a chance on a raffle, meet some good folks, have your cheek painted, and lunch on food from our vendors. There will be a number of vendors displaying, demonstrating, and selling handcrafted instruments and other musical fare. If you have your own instrument, bring it along and join a jam session. Or join a "Meet the Instrument" seminar. And if the spirit takes hold, ask to perform on stage if there's an opening. Anything is possible at Music in the Woods.
