Oregon Ridge Nature Center Needs Trail Guides

trail

Are you interested in nature? Do you love working with children? Do you like to volunteer? If the answer to all these questions is yes, please consider becoming a Trail Guide at the Oregon Ridge Nature Center.

What Do Trail Guides Do?

No prior experience is needed. Trail Guide volunteers are trained to lead visiting school children on hikes through the trails of Oregon Ridge Park, exploring the forest, field and stream habitats. Your feelings about nature are contagious, so the children leave not only with a little knowledge but a healthy dose of love and appreciation for our environment.

When Is Trail Guide Training?

Trail Guide Training will take place in February of each year, as well as in September of each year, usually scheduled from 10 am to 1 pm. However, you do not have to wait for the training session — you can learn on-the-job by joining in several hikes and observing an experienced Trail Guide.

Next training schedule:

February 7-10 , 2017 - 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM - This season’s training topics include maple sugaring, wonders of wetlands, animal adaptations and powers of plants. Adults $20 for first-time attendees. Advance Registration Required. 410-887-1815 or info@OregonRidgeNatureCenter.com

If you are interested or have more questions, please call 410-887-1815.
